- Utilization of structured data contained in existing building simulation and BIM workflow (from integrated design and/or LEED compliance) for use in operations optimization and diagnostics
- Defining optimized balance between data-driven (black box) and first principles-based (white box) approaches
- Data quality screening from common building and energy management systems
- Taking energy information systems for buildings to the next level through specific use 'app' development on new platforms which are being release by major vendors, ie: SkySpark by SkyFoundry, Panoptix by Johnson Controls, Indie Energy Network by Indie Energy
